Review

After a project has been completed, it’s important to review it, so you can learn from the valuable experiences you got.

Almost any project will include a range of insights and experiences that you should learn from. While you might remember most of the important learnings from a project without having a official review phase of the project, it can be beneficial to have a more formalized process to spread the experience and learnings inside the company. There might also be different views on the causes for the successes and failures in the project.

There are many different things you should review:

1.)    Technical: Are the technical choices that were made during the project successful? If not, what should have been different? What choices were successful? Are the successful choices something that should be done on the next projects as well, or are they specific to this project?

2.)    Project management: What should have been managed differently during the project? What did work well? Did the project manager keep a good overview during the project?
