The node id search should work in the new interface. See the attached video for an example of it working.

The old and new interface uses the same search index, and the search code is very similar, so results should be very similar as well. The fact that you get no results of a node id search of a known id, means that there is something else that's not working as it should. I'll be in touch to see if we can help you find the issue. 

Hi, it turns out this is because the new UI did not list contents flagged with "Hide in text searches".

This is now changed, and it should work as expected.
